The Economic Committee of the World Steel Association, of which Erdemir is a member, visited Erdemir on March 20, 2025, following a working meeting held in Türkiye.
Erdemir hosted members of the Economics Committee (ECON) of the World Steel Association, one of the world's largest industry associations, whose members represent approximately 85% of global steel production, in Ereğli on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Representatives from JFE Steel, Nippon Steel, China Baowu Steel Group, Metinvest, Worldsteel, and the Turkish Steel Producers Association attended the field trip.
Representing steel producers, steel industry associations, and research institutes worldwide, the Economics Committee works on capacity, production, demand, and consumption forecasts for the global steel market to support its members in their future planning and decision-making processes. ECON aims to provide fast and reliable information on trends in the steel market and key strategic issues affecting the industry's future. ECON’s working meeting was held in Istanbul from March 17 to 19, 2025, under the coordination of the World Steel Association and the Turkish Steel Producers Association. Following the meeting, ECON members participated in a field trip organized for them, where they received information about Erdemir’s facilities and ongoing projects.
